Los Altos United Methodist Church sponsors a variety of missions that take church members, friends and guests all over the world to follow in Jesus’ footsteps, bringing the message of love with open arms to others. Often in the course of a mission trip, not only are the people to whom the mission is directed moved by the love of Christ seen in the eyes of the participants, but the participants themselves are awakened to the power of faith in action. Mexico House-Building Trip, April 7–14, 2018
Put your faith into action! We will be working with AMOR Ministries to build simple two-room houses for the working poor in Tecate, just over the border from eastern San Diego. This trip will change your life as you get to know and fall in love with the people of Mexico who live and work in conditions very different from ours. The trip is open to all ages – no prior experience is necessary. The registration deadline is January 3, with later registrations accepted if there is space available. Check out the FAQs or trip overview, then download a registration form. Financial assistance is available from the Mission Trip Scholarship Fund; please review the scholarship criteria and then submit the application form.
Mexico Women’s Build, late June 2018 (dates TBA)
This house-building mission trip is very similar to the April trip but will consist of women and girls under the direction of women and teens who have experience from previous Mexico trips. The June mission team will go either to Tijuana or Rosarito. If you’re looking to participate in this life-changing trip in the company of like-minded females, this trip is for you! Check back in fall 2018 for specific dates and additional information. Financial assistance is available from the Mission Trip Scholarship Fund.
