A Listening Session
In Case You Missed It: Our Listening Session for Parents and Grandparents of Young Children

What a great success, as 29 adults and youth (21 in-person & 8 by Zoom) and 6 children participated in this time of laying the foundation for re-energizing Children’s Ministry at LAUMC. A big thanks to Pastor Dave, Nancy Brown, Sharon McClintock, and Lee & Herschel French for making this event happen.
It is our hope and prayer that ministry with children and families will continue to thrive at LAUMC. We sincerely welcome your input as we develop a safe, fun and faith-filled place for children and families to belong.
With grace and peace,
Pastor Dave
Sunday School at LAUMC
Through this time of transition over the summer, we have good things for children happening. Every Sunday, the 10:00 a.m. Worship Service will include a Children’s Time (one of my very favorite parts of worship). This is followed by an outdoor (in light of Covid) summer Sunday School program we are calling: Summer Fun in Story and Song – that includes storytelling, music, playground time and a fruit snack (please let us know if your children have any fruit allergies). Nancy Brown, Sharon McClintock and Lee French, all who have a wealth of experience working with children, are together leading this program. In addition, librarian Sharon McClintock leads: Story Hour with Ms. Sharon one Saturday each month 9:30 a.m. in the LAUMC garden.
In-Person Sunday School and Nursery Care
Nursery care is available from 8:15-11:15am for children 5 and younger. • Sunday school will meet in the Children’s Center after the children’s time during the 10am worship service. • We will be following the same COVID safety policy as the Children’s Center Preschool, including not permitting any adults who aren’t teaching inside of the building and fogging our spaces. To protect each other, we will be implementing the following safety precautions.
Be Symptom Free
If anyone in your family begins experiencing COVID-like symptoms, please stay home to rest and recuperate. Let us know if there is anything we can do to support your family while you are home, be it prayers or meals, etc.
Temperature Checks
Upon check-in we will take your temperature. If it’s above 99 degrees, we will ask your family to rest at home.
KN95 or N95 Masks
We ask that everyone about age 2 wear a high-grade mask. We will have some on-site too.
Vaccinate When Eligible
LAUMC will be requiring COVID vaccinations for all eligible persons. We will check your vaccine cards.

Sunday Morning Team
With contemplative practices for kids, Sunday school, nursery care, tween ministry, and more, Sundays are packed with way to be in ministry with kids.
Community Outreach Team
This team supports kids and families through storytelling, kindergarten prep, and delivering Family Time Kits.
VBS Team
VBS is a week of fun through friendship building and faith formation. This event reaches into our community and provides a safe summer camp opportunity for the families we serve.
Hospitality Ministry
We want every family to feel like they belong at LAUMC. We do that through welcome gifts and cards, birthday gifts and cards, and meal trains for families who need a little help.
There is a place for you!
Our ministry with kids and families needs support and help as we continue to grow. We need greeters, small group leaders and helpers, supply organizers, event planners, card writers, box packers, and prayers. Please sign up to support our kids today!
