This year, LAUMC will be conducting its annual Men’s Retreat November 13–15 virtually over Zoom. The spiritual leader will be Associate Pastor Jeremy Steele, who will lead participants on the topic of “Rediscovering Empathy.” In our extremely divided and divisive world, many of us have let our powers of empathy and compromise languish. Yet, as Christians, we are called to connect with our world and offer it the love and grace of Jesus. To do that, we need to rediscover the power of empathy in our lives. Participants will have time to both learn and practice empathy through study and discussion.
The retreat will be held in three daily sessions, expected to go for 60–90 minutes each on Friday through Sunday. The Friday session will be held at 7:00pm, the Saturday session at 9:00am, and the Sunday session at 2:00pm. For the Sunday session, there will be an option to gather, socially distanced, at the Los Altos campus as well as on Zoom.
The retreat is free, and all men are invited to register online. Contact retreat coordinator Ernie Sapigao with questions.
