What a day the Walk to End Alzheimer’s LAUMC Team had in San Francisco last month! The weather was beautiful. The views were incredible. The LAUMC team, 92 team members strong and led by Patty Kenny and Susan O’Neil, had 76 members walking together on September 19 and sharing lunch after the Walk. The team has raised almost $37,000 to date. We are the number-one community team for the San Francisco Walk and in the top 50 of all teams nationwide. Fund-raising is still open! All donations made through the end of the year will benefit the 2015 Walk. Go to the LAUMC Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team page to donate to the team or to support a team member.
Paul Rosas put on a fabulous Alzheimer’s Benefit Concert on October 3. The concert featured Brian Holmes (alphorn), Anne Janzer, Casie Walker and Mayo Tsuzuki (vocals), Larry and Carla Sue (handbells), Dirk Damonte (piano), Dylan Damonte (percussion), and Paul Rosas (organ). The generous audience donated more than $3,400 to Paul’s team, Alzheimer’s Benefit Concerts. Thank you Paul and company for this wonderful afternoon.
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Together, we can and will end Alzheimer’s disease, the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death.
