To help build relationships and bridge those gaps, the Deepening Faith practice team is sponsoring LAUMC’s hosting of a “Red/Blue Workshop” on Saturday, December 2nd. Developed and led by Braver Angels, an independent, bipartisan grass-roots organization, the workshop will provide participants with a forum to safely discuss their own viewpoints and get answers to sincere questions about other viewpoints.”
A forum to share your views and be heard without judgment, giving the same respect to others. Our goal is mutual understanding, not changing minds.

Workshop Description
Red/Blue workshops bring together a small, evenly divided group of conservatives and liberals, or “reds” and “blues,” for a series of exercises designed to help participants clarify disagreements, reduce stereotyped thinking, and discover common values. Anyone interested in developing a deeper understanding of, and connection with, people whose political beliefs differ from their own is welcome.
During a Red/Blue Workshop, 5-8 Conservative-leaning citizens (“Reds”) and 5-8 Liberal/Progressive-leaning citizens (“Blues”) gather together in structured conversations. There is also room for a limited number of observers. Observers do not participate in the discussions but will have the opportunity to watch and listen.
