Celebrate Rev. Sam Blewis’ 8 Years of Ministry at LAUMC and Kristi’s 2 Years of Service to LAUMC!
As you may know, Rev. Sam has been appointed to St. Paul’s UMC in San Jose beginning July 1, which means it’s time to celebrate all the good Rev. Sam is and has been! She will preach on June 2nd at 8:30 am and 10 am in the sanctuary and at 5 pm in Creekside.
We will also be celebrating Kristi Blewis on June 2nd! She has accepted the position of Director of Operations with CSA, and her time serving LAUMC as Director of Operations is ending in June. We look forward to celebrating on June 2nd.
In addition to attending one of the services on June 2nd, there are a few ways to share your good wishes with Rev. Sam and Kristi, and you can participate in all of them!
Love Gift for Rev. Pastor Sam
We invite congregation members to contribute to a financial “Love Gift” for Pastor Sam as she moves to a new appointment at St. Paul’s UMC on July 1. If you would like to participate, please write a check in the amount of your gift made payable directly to Samantha Blewis, put it in an envelope, and place it in a special basket in the narthex after Sunday morning services: May 26 and June 2. You can also mail gifts to the church office, Attn: Finance Office. We will deposit the gifts into Pastor Sam’s personal bank account in a single amount. We will present her with a list of gift-givers but will not include the individual donation amounts. If you do not have paper checks, a cashier’s check or cash are alternatives. Please do not make gifts payable to LAUMC. These are not tax-deductible donations.

Memory Book
A special memory book will be available to record your thoughts and memories of Rev. Sam in the sanctuary narthex and also at Creekside for the 5 p.m. service. The book will be available on May 19th, 26th, and June 2nd.
Draw a Heart and Share a Favorite Memory or Trait
We will decorate Creekside with hearts for Rev. Sam’s final sermon at LAUMC on June 2nd. Please write a love note reflecting on how much Rev. Sam’s ministry and friendship mean to you. Or, simply cut out a heart and sign your name. Supplies will be in the narthex; construction paper, markers, and scissors will be available on May 19th, May 26th, and June 2nd.
There are many “behind the scenes” ways to help prepare for the June 2nd celebration.
