The One Matters Award is presented to the top-performing church in each Conference of the United Methodist Church based on the end-of-the-year statistical report that every church submits. It goes to the church with the highest number of new members received through a profession of faith, plus the number of baptisms. In 2023, LAUMC received 42 new members through a profession of faith and had 9 baptisms … together, the highest of any church in the Conference. In addition, District Superintendent Samuel Hong lifted up LAUMC’s overall growth in worship attendance of 20 percent and our faithfulness in living out our vision as a Reconciling Congregation.
