Sunday, March 9, 2025 – Following Creekside Crossings
In honor of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, LAUMC, The Pacifica Institute, and BAYCC invite everyone to join us as we listen to Muslim and interfaith speakers discuss the many lessons of Ramadan, including the importance of being charitable and especially generous with those in need, and how these injunctions are particularly relevant during this challenging time.

LAUMC hosts a fabulous Iftar Interfaith Celebration,
from Sunday March 9th
Creekside was buzzing with over 135 adults and 25 children Sunday evening as the interfaith community came together to celebrate the Fast-Breaking Ramadan Iftar Dinner. The evening started off with wonderful music from the Creekside worship band, followed by a short video on why fasting during Ramadan brings Muslims around the world closer to God. After the video, a panel of two representatives from Pacifica/BAYCC and LAUMC, facilitated by Yvonne Murray, responded to questions from the audience about Muslim and Methodist faith traditions. Pastor Dave followed the panel by introducing our newly elected House Of Representative, Congressman Sam Liccardo, who extended his Ramadan greetings and appreciation for the gathering of the wider community in celebration of this very important holy month. A beautiful call to prayer and blessing of the food was provided by Mahmut Altun. The evening concluded with a tasty dinner and lively conversation at the tables. Attendees did not want to leave Creekside at the conclusion of the event. Special thanks to Ms. Sharon for her delightful program and patience with the children, Pastor Dirk for providing music, and Pastor Dave, who always extends a big LAUMC welcome to the interfaith community.
