Important Dates: November 26, December 3, & December 17
The LAUMC Incarceration Ministry team plans an Angel Tree Program to support our incarcerated brothers and sisters and their children living in Santa Clara County this Christmas.
Approximately 3 million children in America have an incarcerated parent, damaging family relationships and leaving children feeling abandoned and ashamed, especially at Christmas. Angel Tree gives incarcerated parents a pathway to strengthen and restore relationships with their children and families.
Incarcerated parents enroll their children in Angel Tree, allowing them to suggest a gift for their kids and send a written message to each child. The Angel Tree team of volunteers confirms with the caretaker the incarcerated parent’s Christmas wish for the child and that the LAUMC community wants to support it.
Our tree will be in the Narthex with gift tags on November 26 and December 3. Volunteers in the congregation select a gift tag, purchase it, and return it on the 10th.
On Sunday, December 17, at 11:15 am in the Youth Room. We will be wrapping Christmas presents for the children whose parent (s) are incarcerated. They will be so happy to receive these gifts! Please bring scissors, wrapping paper, tape, and ribbon/bows.
Please consider joining the team of volunteers. There are many ways you can help.
For questions, please contact Terry Morrison at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you! Thank you!!
